About Us
Aligned with the Men of Color Support group’s purpose, The Line Up provides a space to support Men of Color participants striving for wellbeing with a special emphasis on dynamic conversations, peer and role model engagement, and access to physical wellbeing resources such as haircuts. The Line Up occurs twice a month in 2 fashions. One Saturday a month, a barber attends the already established Men of Color Support Group gatherings where a clinical counselor provides group counseling sessions. The addition of a barber to this space provides a value-add to an already robust program. This scaled approach now offers students the opportunity to engage in a group counseling session and access a culturally relevant barber, which has been persistent challenges for men of color on the hill. The second fashion of The Line Up occurs on one Wednesday a month with a barber providing culturally relevant haircuts paired with engagement opportunities from men of color role models and other leaders. These role models and other leaders provide career, social/emotional, and other forms of support that promote the wellbeing of men of color on the hill.
