Faculty and Staff Bible Study

DISCIPLE is a program of disciplined Bible study aimed at developing a deeper understanding of Christian texts. Chaplain Stephanie will kick off our study with an overview of the Bible as a text and skills for Bible Study before we start our deep dive with the DISCIPLE study of the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). The DISCIPLE study draws upon the work of scholars, the personal Bible study of each participant, and group discussion. We will consider scholarship, geography, history and theology as we move from Creation through to the Prophets. This study will require about 30 minutes a day of preparation (homework) and a one hour meeting on campus weekly. As Denison employees committed to dialogue, diversity, our Christian faith, and lifelong learning, all staff are welcome as we broaden our understandings of our sacred text.
