Our mission is to raise awareness about domestic violence and do what we can to help survivors and their families.
New Beginnings is a shelter for survivors of domestic violence located in Newark, Ohio. Many women who live there have children. Volunteers from Denison help the Child Advocate, Naomi, with childcare on Monday nights when the women have the option of attending a support group. A normal Monday night is full of play doh, crafts, and games. If you are a fun and energetic person who has lots of empathy for children, you would benefit from working with this organization. Learn about Intimate Partner Violence in Licking County, get skills working with a non-profit in Licking County, and build community with other students advocating for safety.
