Students work to address human rights and advocacy through DCSA committees:

Health Equity and Wellness

Students work to address health equity and wellness issues through DCSA committees of the American Red Cross and Medical Volunteers.

Economic Equity and Affordable Housing

Students work to address economic equity and affordable housing through the DCSA committees and community partners:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Newark
  • Break Away
  • Star House
  • Community Service Interns with Licking County Coalition for Housing
  • Newark Homeless Outreach

Animal Rights

Students work to address animal rights issues by volunteering through the DCSA Humane Society committee.

Civic Engagement

Students partner with campus and community organizations to increase civic engagement on campus through volunteering, voter education, and voter registration. DCSA partners with DU Votes, League of Women Voters of Licking County and the Licking County NAACP.

Food Security

Students work to address food security issues through the DCSA committee Food Recovery Network by recovering food from Denison's Dining Halls and providing the recovered food to various community partners.  Students also work with the Food Pantry Network of Licking County.
