About Us

Fighting Food Waste. Feeding People. Food Recovery Network (FRN) is a national non-profit dedicated to fighting food waste and feeding people. Here at Denison, all the surplus food we recover from the dining halls is donated to local non-profits that serve it to community members in need, and decreases food waste on Denison's campus.

Members Benefits

Students that participate in Food Recovery will benefit from having an opportunity to have consistent weekly volunteering in Denison Dining Halls. Students recover unused food from Curtis and Huffman Dining Halls. Students get to work with the Dining Staff and a community of their peers during food recovery. They are trained on food safety and how to do food recoveries. Students will contribute to Sustainability on Denison's campus and help to decrease food insecurity in the community. Students get a free meal in the dining hall for every recovery shift they work!
