Join us for an Empowerment Series event with Denison Outdoors Club!

Join the Outdoors Club for an action-packed, hands-on afternoon where you’ll learn the essentials of backpack camping! On Saturday, March 7th from 1:30–3:30 PM at Lamson Lodge, we’ll be teaching you how to properly pack a backpacking pack, set up a tent, use a camping stove, and build and light a campfire. After learning the basics, you’ll get to put your skills to the test in some competitions to see who can set up their tent the fastest and who can light a fire the quickest. There will be special prizes for our winners (Patagonia gear!!!!), plus tons of giveaways including first aid kits, whistles, reusable camping utensils, and more! You can also create your own custom snack at our FREE trail mix bar and celebrate your new outdoor skills by roasting s’mores over the fire we build together. You will not want to miss this fun, interactive, and totally free event — it’s the perfect opportunity to get outside, learn something new, and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts!

Join us for an Empowerment Series event with Kappa Alpha Theta! This event serves as a time to practice self care and reflect on the aspects of ourselves that we love, and find ways to reframe those that we are insecure about. Sororities have served as a place for women to come together and lift each other up to assist in the process of becoming our best selves. They have also acted as a means to empower ourselves as women to understand our full and true potential. This event will involve a dialogue on this subject as well as a craft activity in which individuals can customize a mason jar and fill it with encouraging and empowering notes that you can pick out in a time when you are looking for a reminder of your self worth or need motivation in daily life. All are welcome to attend!
