Why Podiatric Medicine?

1. Clinical & Surgical Excellence. Podiatric medicine stands out as a specialty that provides comprehensive care, combining both clinical and surgical practices. At Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM), we are proud to have achieved a 100% match rate for our graduates into podiatric medical residency programs.

2. Diverse Career Settings. DPMs are trained to work in a variety of environments, including private practices, trauma centers, sports medicine facilities, and wound care clinics. This versatility allows for a fulfilling career that supports both professional growth and personal well-being.

3. Physician First, Specialist Second. From day one, our podiatric medical students are trained as physicians with a strong general medicine foundation before focusing on the lower extremities. This comprehensive approach ensures they are well-prepared to address the rising demand for care related to conditions like diabetes, sports injuries, and the growing emphasis on preventive medicine. Given the current trends in healthcare and the increasing need for specialized care in lower extremity health, now is an ideal time for aspiring physicians to consider podiatric medicine as a rewarding career path.
